When the going gets tough, 2ne1 cheers me right back up. Their lyrics are so relatable and applicable to my life, and I’m sure to many other women too, which factors into their success. Their songs tell us that others have been through what we’re going through before, and that they were able to overcome it by being strong independent womyn. It’s amazing how every one of their songs have at least a few lines that you can directly relate to, and a few more lines that help you overcome that very hurdle. Amidst heartbreak, they sing about tenacity, self respect, and independence, which provides us with the motivation to move on and strengthen ourselves, and most importantly, that things will only get better after you’ve hit rock bottom.
